For fans of slide-action rifles - also known as pump guns - Remington is the only choice for hunting deer and big game. Faster to operate than bolt-actions, pump guns are often preferred by hunters who use pump shotguns -- and the 7600 is the only commonly-available pump rifle that I know of. The Model 7600 comes in calibers from 243 through 30-06. Older variations include Models 76 and 760.
